Using a variety of techniques, including interviews, online surveys and focus groups, our team conducted a detailed investigation across 10 sample sites spread across the UK to explore the following areas:​

  • Roles and responsibilities of staff members at branch level
  • Feedback from the carer population to evaluate the nature of employment relationship and identify the root cause of discontent​
  • The motivation and key operational challenges for carers in the region ​

Our investigations and analysis allowed us to deliver the business with: ​

  • A report detailing key challenges and proposed recommendations ​
  • Redefined role specifications for branch roles ​
  • A basic competency framework​
  • An action plan​

Based on our recommendations, the business has actioned a suite of recruitment and retention initiatives led by the branch network. These have led to improved retention levels and more successful recruitment.
